“Threadstone Capital was initially hired by Cult Beauty to assist in the sale of the company and maximize value for the shareholder group. In July of 2020, as an independent director and the company’s largest shareholder Mark Quinn Newell took charge of the process. As a result of our involvement, I had the pleasure of working exceptionally closely with Mark over an extended and stressful period. In the end, results matter and in every endeavor Mark’s been associated with that I’m aware of, the investments have been extremely successful. He pushes teams for their best work and gives them the resources to realize their potential. Unlike many investors and business leaders, Mark does not seek the spotlight or fame. He believes success is based on teamwork and goes out of his way to highlight others contributions over his own never wanting to appear self-centered or arrogant.
Most importantly, Mark is someone I’ve come to respect and value professionally and personally. He maintains a set of values anchored in integrity, honesty and fairness. Respect for others is core to Mark as a person as he is constantly praising and rewarding those around him. Generous to seasoned veterans and lower-level staff members. Charitable to causes that benefit the environment and personal suffering. Selfless to the point of sharing his gains with others as acknowledgement of their contributions. And always maintaining a sense of humor and level of wit that puts a smile on my face. His word is his bond, but his friendship and loyalty are earned.
